How to Clean Your Sex Toys

Everyone wants to keep their sex toys spotless and hygienic, and this is really easy with the right technique and the right cleaning products.
Proper cleaning and proper storage of sex toys is the difference in whether your pleasure products will last a lifetime (or just a few minutes!), so read on to discover how to care for your precious toy collection.

The basics

Make sure your sex toys are cleaned before and after use to ensure optimal hygiene. All you need for the cleaning process is warm water, a good quality sex toy cleaner and a clean dry towel or kitchen roll.

First, before we go over the different rules for different types of toys, we'll walk you through the general process of how to clean sex toys. To clean toys, give them a quick rinse and then spray them with whatever Sex Toys cleaner you use. Leave it on for about 30 seconds and then carefully clean any stubborn areas (such as ridges or bumps) before rinsing off all the cleaner with warm water.

To dry, you can either let your toys air dry on sheets of clean kitchen paper or speed up the process by drying them with a clean towel.

By thoroughly cleaning and fully drying your toys, you'll prevent dust and bacteria build-up and keep your toys looking and feeling brand new.

For Vibrating Toys that are not waterproof

For motorized toys, such as vibrators, you must be careful not to cause water damage that will stop your toy from working. The trick is to use sex toy cleaner or soap with just a damp cloth to wipe down the sex toy without immersing it in water.

Dildo Time

If your dildo is motorized (meaning it uses batteries or is rechargeable), then the same rules apply to dildos: don't submerge your toy in water and just wipe it down.

For non-motorized vibrators that are made of a non-porous material, such as silicone, stainless steel, stone or Pyrex glass, you can submerge your toy in water to clean it properly.

Anal Toys

Cleaning anal sex toys may seem to require a more complicated routine than other sex toys used in the vagina, penis, or elsewhere. However, you can clean anal sex toys using the same technique as your other toys: with warm water and a sex toy cleaner or mild soap. Just avoid immersing motorized anal toys in water, especially if they are not waterproof.

Realistic-feeling sex toys are made from a blend of materials designed to feel as close to real skin as possible. For realistic-feeling sex toys, there is an extra step you need to take (which is not needed for other types of toys) to keep them soft and stretchy instead of sticky.

It's very simple and doesn't require much effort on your part. Just sprinkle your toy with cornmeal or a special refreshing powder to counteract that sticky feeling, and then make sure the clean toy is stored separately from the rest.
